Laboratory

CAED CAMD LAB
Preparation of manufacturing drawing with limits fits and tolerance to maintain during component preparation and assembly operation is an important component of industrial activity. Here students will be gaining knowledge of component preparation and assembly of components (2-D & 3-D), using hand sketch and CADD tools.
DESIGN LAB
Enables students to understand the working principles of machine elements such as Governors, Gyroscopes, etc., and to identify vibrations in machine elements and design appropriate damping methods. The stresses associated with the various machine elements subjected to various loading will be studied by photo elastic method.
ENERGY LAB
In this lab students will be analyzing the characteristics and properties of various fuels. Also Performance test of engines will be conducted using Petrol and diesel test rigs.
FLUID MECHANICS AND MACHINERY LAB
The objective of this laboratory is to study basic understanding of flow measurements using various type of flow measuring devices, calibration, losses associated with these devices and energy conversion principles. Also, performance analysis and application of hydraulic turbines and pumps will be demonstrated.
FOUNDARY AND FORGING LAB
In this lab students will be preparing the machine components using various forging tools. The complicated part preparation will be carried out using casting process. Also students will be understanding the preparation and testing of foundry sand.
HEAT TRANSFER LAB
In this lab students will be gaining the Knowledge of heat transfer (Conduction , convection, Radiation) by conducting the various experiments. Also students will be capable of understanding and analyzing the problems associated with refrigeration, air conditioning and heating.
MACHINE SHOP
To get required machine components, various machining operations have to be carried on the materials. To understand the machining operations, students will be working on various machines like, Lathe, Milling, Grinding, Drilling and shaping Machines.
MATERIAL TESTING LAB
This lab is associated with destructive and non-destructive testing of engineering materials. To study the elastic and plastic limits of these materials a test will be conducted on Universal Testing Machine. Experimentally other tests like, hardness, impact testes will be conducted. The crack test and micro structural analysis will be experimentally demonstrated.
MECHANICAL MEASUREMENT AND METROLOGY LAB
The measuring system required to keep the accuracy in inspection and quality control. In this lab students will be studying various measuring system and calibration methods.
MODELING AND ANALYSIS LAB
The machine components will be subjected to various combined loading. The testing of these components will be tedious and complex by experimental method. Such problems will be solved by using mechanical application software’s (Finite element analysis using ANSYS software)
