Sri. V. Muniyappa

Founder and Chairman Emeritus

Sri. V. Muniyappa is a senior leader with over four decades of distinguished political experience, known for his unwavering commitment to rural development, social upliftment, and educational advancement. As a graduate in Bachelor of Agricultural Sciences from Bangalore University, he has always believed in the power of knowledge to transform communities. He is the Founder Chairman of Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering (SVCE), Bengaluru, where he continues to guide the institution with vision, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility toward shaping future generations.

Throughout his long-standing political career, he has represented the Sidlaghatta constituency for seven times as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and has held several key positions in the Government of Karnataka. He served as Minister of Sericulture, Minister of Energy, and Minister of Mines & Geology, playing an instrumental role in strengthening these sectors. In addition to his legislative roles, he continues to serve as Vice President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). He has held various organisational responsibilities over the years, including General Secretary of KPCC, Joint Secretary of AICC and leadership roles in the Youth & Block Congress. His experience reflects a career rooted in grassroots connection and state-level impact. He has also played a vital role in strengthening the cooperative movement in his region, having led agricultural, sericultural, and marketing societies aimed at empowering farmers and small-scale producers.

As Founder Chairman of SVCE, he brings the same values of service, governance, and visionary planning into the realm of education. Under his leadership, the institution continues to grow as a Center of Excellence dedicated to producing skilled, ethical, and socially conscious engineers who contribute meaningfully to society.
