Dr. Sunil S has 15 years of experience in teaching and 5 Years of experience in research. He received BE from Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Bengaluru and M.Tech from Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumakuru. He completed his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering at Research Centre, Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering affiliated to VTU Belagavi. His area of interest includes Renewable Energy, Biofuels, Fuel additives and Optimization Techniques.
He has published around 15 papers in International Journals and Conferences (10 papers in Scopus Indexed Journals). He has filed and published 5 IPRs. One of the patent related to his PhD thesis titled “Apparatus and Method for Producing Biodiesel Fuel” (Application No: 202041033065) is in the final grant stage. The hearing is successfully completed and formal requirements related to NOC from NBA (National Biodiversity Advisory) is due which is in progress.
He has received grant KSCST, KSBDB and other agencies. Taken the lead of setting up Biofuel Research and Development unit at Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering. He has have obtained 3 best paper/poster awards at various National / International conferences. He has reviewed articles for various reputed journals like Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies (Taylor and Francis), Materials Today: Proceedings (Elsevier), Journal of Energy Research and Reviews and Chemical Science International Journal. Projects guided by him have been recognized by various agencies/bodies. One of the projects guided by him received the prestigious “Chatra Vishwakarma Award-2019” for the innovative idea under the theme “Waste Management’’ organized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.
Currently he is working as Associate Professor and HoD (I/c) in Mechanical Engineering Department and Controller of Examinations at Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Bengaluru. He has served in the same institution at various levels for 15 years
