Introduction of Institute

Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering (SVCE), Bengaluru is a self-financed Institute, affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), approved by AICTE and Government of Karnataka, established in the year 2001 by Honourable Chairman Sri V Muniyappa. The campus is attractively landscaped in an 11 acre land at Vidyanagar, Kempegowda International Airport Road, Bengaluru with all sophisticated amenities for incorporating world class education.

SVCE is a unit of Sri Venkateshwara Group of Institutions (SVGI). SVGI caters to the educational needs of the society from child education to Doctoral Degree programmes in Engineering and Management. The Institute offers five Under-Graduate, five Post-Graduate and six Doctoral Degree programmes. Four undergraduate programmes in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Civil Engineering (CE) are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Seven departments – ME, CSE, ECE, Civil, MBA, Mathematics and Physics – have been approved as research centers by VTU to offer Ph.D Programmes. SVCE is listed among colleges under Sections 2(f) & 12 (B) of UGC.

Under the able guidance of Sri V Muniyappa, Chairman, Dr. Shashidhar Muniyappa, Chief Executive Director (CED), and Dr. Nageswara Guptha M, Principal of institute is engaged in developing graduates with innovativeness, effective communication and ethical engineers to cater to the needs of technology in the changing world. The Institute has created an encouraging environment for effective holistic teaching and learning, fosters active research through its research centers. Institute has received several world class recognition includes “GOLD BAND RATING from the most prestigious Indian College and University Ranking Organisation QS I-GAUGE”, “Engineering College of the year 2016 by Higher Education Review”. SVCE has obtained 36th ranking in academic institute. SVCE welcomes NEW Incubations & start-upsin the institute. The organisation has received ATAL Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) for the academic year 2019-2020.

Overview on IQAC

IQAC in the institution was constituted in the academic year 2014 with a view to initiate, plan and supervise different activities which are important to maintain and improve the quality of education imparted, which is well defined in the quality policy of the institution. IQAC has member representatives from the top management, teaching, students and stake holders for getting diversified suggestions for continuous improvement. IQAC is a significant body of the institution which monitors the process of teaching, learning and evaluation. It takes the responsibility of generating and promoting awareness in the institution regarding multi level quality sustenance activities and implementing new ones for attaining excellence. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent & catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. For this, it will channelize all efforts & measures of the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence.

SVCE is committed to continually improve the infrastructure, research initiatives, enhance the faculty competencies and empower the students to self-learning. The IQAC conducts meeting once in every six months to discuss the improvements to be carried out and enables the institution to focus on mission and vision. Parameters related to the enhancing of the quality of the institution like, innovations in teaching, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) accreditation, Infrastructure development and more are considerably improved after the formation of IQAC Committee.

Mission

Academic & Administrative Audit (AAA)

Academic & Administrative Audit of the institute is conducted once in a year. The departments are assessed based on the quality parameters covering Department practice, Curriculum Design and Development, Infrastructure and Learning Resources, Research, Consultancy and Extension. Also mainly focuses on Infrastructure & Learning Resources, Organization and Governance, Innovative Practices and Placement & Progression. IQAC helps in the conduct of Academic & Administrative Audit. It is conducted by a team comprising of both internal members and headed by the IQAC coordinator and Principal.
